Advanced Quantum Mechanics Page

Here are presented my notes on Advanced Quantum Mechanics as presented by Leonard Susskind.

This is the first of my notes on the 2013 version of the video series that Leonard Susskind presented on Advanced Quantum Mechanics for his Stanford Lecture Series. They can be found on Youtube.

Leonard Susskind is a professor of physics at Stanford University. I have produced for myself a series of notes on each lecture, which I'll share with my viewership. However, these notes are far from being comprehensive. Though sparse, they do contain most of the important definitions, formulas, and results needed to follow the subject matter as it is presented in the video lectures.

Lecture 1: State Vectors and Symmetry Operators.

Lecture 2: Rotational Symmetries, Angular Momentum Operators.

Lecture 3: Central Forces, Harmonic Oscillators.

Lecture 4: Intrinsic Spin and Pauli Exclusion Principle.

Lecture 5: More on spin statistics, bosons, fermions.

Lecture 6: Getting started on QFT.

Lecture 7: Our first significant calculation using quantum field operators.

Lecture 8: Field operators and Fourier transforms.

Lecture 9: The Dirac Equation in 1-dimension.

Lecture 10: The Dirac Equation in 3-dimensions. For some outside reading,
consider the formulation of the Dirac theory by D. Hestenes, Spacetime Physics
with Geometric Algebra, American Journal of Physics, 71, (7) July, 2003, 691--714.
